Vietnam actively takes part in WIPO programsThe World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) has provided significant support for Vietnam through development programs to help raise the capacity of the country’s intellectual property system.

General Director of the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam (NOIP) Ta Quang Minh was addressing the 51st session of the WIPO General Assembly held in Geneva, Switzerland, from September 23 to October 2.

Minh said cooperation between Vietnam and WIPO has been strengthened in recent times, especially in distance learning and access to WIPO database.

At the session, WIPO members approved reports of WIPO committees and made important decisions related to the operation of the world and WIPO’s intellectual property systems.

Vietnam also held meetings with a number of participating partners, including the Asia-Europe Innovation Agency and the Australia’s Intellectual Property, to promote cooperative ties.

In addition, Vietnam and ASEAN held a meeting with WIPO and the Office of Harmonization for the Internal Market (OHIM).
