CommuniParty official congratulates Vietnamese physiciansst Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC) Secretary and Politburo member Dinh The Huynh visited a number of hospitals in Hanoi on February 25 in honour of Vietnam Physicians’ Day (February 27).

Vietnam-Germany Friendship Hospital Director Ass.Prof. Dr Nguyen Tien Quyet—along with more than 1,700 professors, doctors, and medical staff—welcomed Huynh and his delegation.

After more than 100 years of growth, the hospital is now regarded as a reliable facility for treating those affected by dangerous diseases. It is also renowned for developing the professional skills of the Vietnamese medical establishments via its international exchange relationships.

The hospital’s plans for the future focus on upgrading medical equipment and infrastructure, improving the quality of treatment and services, and reducing the number of outpatients who are sometimes forced into seeking expensive and time-consuming treatment overseas.

Huynh praised the hospital’s recent achievements as well as its wider healthcare programme efforts. The latter include campaigns to build satellite hospitals; dispatching doctors to mountainous, remote, and border areas; and supporting the adoption of technological advances in organ transplantation.

In his visit to the Central Traditional Medicine Hospital on the same day, Huynh expressed his pleasure at the steady growth of new graduates entering the field. He called on them to preserve and capitalise on the thousand years of traditional medical knowledge passed down by ancestors.

Huynh said the harmonious combination of traditional and modern medicine can only result in more effective examinations and treatments.
