The VVietnamese, German businesses talk cooperationiet Nam-Germany Dialogue Forum took place on September 18 in Ha Noi to exchange issues of common concern and boost trade and investment linkages between the two countries’ business communities.

The leading and regular providers of ODA for Viet Nam, the country’s investment in Viet Nam remains low and yet taps each country’s potentials, Minister of Planning and Investment Bui Quang Vinh, said, urging the speeding up of coordination to spur bilateral investment linkages.

German Economy Minister Philipp Rösler, for his part, noted that since the two countries established the strategic partnership in 2011, their cooperation activities have become robust in economic, politic and cultural areas.

In 2011, with trade volume surging 28% against 2010 to hit € 5.7 billion, Germany became the most European important trade partner to Viet Nam, Mr. Philipp Rösler said.

He stressed that with its experience, Germany is ready to transfer technologies relating to renewable energy and healthcare to Viet Nam.

The German Minister also recommended Viet Nam to perfect the legal system in favor of investors.

Deputy Director of the Foreign Investment Agency under the Ministry of Planning and Investment Dang Xuan Quang reaffirmed that Viet Nam is on the path to reform its legal system in accordance with international practices and has created favorable conditions it can for any investors.

At the forums, participating businesspeople also discussed investment climate, infrastructure development, and energy supply and security.

Memoranda of understanding on bilateral cooperation were signed between the Ministry of Construction and the Schwabisch Hall, a cooperative building home loan bank; and between Viet Nam Motors Industry Corporation (Vinamotor) and Siemens Viet Nam./.
