The 2013 S2013 Southern Fruit Festival to be kicked offouthern Fruit Festival, honouring agricultural achievements of southern provinces in particular, and Vietnam in general, will open on June 1st, announced the organizing panel at a press conference on May 28th.

The event, with the participation of fruit cultivators from Vietnamese provinces and cities, as well as art troupes from Laos, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and the Republic of Korea, includes various activities such as a fruit market on boats, exhibition, summer cuisine, parade and artistic exchanges.

One of the key activities is the floating fruit market to introduce and sell 180 kinds of fruits, such as pomelo, dragon fruit, mangosteen and durian.

The festival will also showcase a collection of 300 giant fruits and bulbs collected from localities nationwide.
