Forbes has included 10 Vietnamese companies in its Asia’s top 200 “Best Under a Billion” (BUB) listings, two more than the eight featured last year.
The 10 companies raising their heads above widespread economic gloom included the Ninh Hoa Sugar Joint Stock Company, the Vietnam Container JSC, Dinh Vu Port, the Vietnam National Seed Corporation, the Southern Seed JSC, the Vegetable Oil Packing JSC, the Binh Dinh Minerals JSC, Sea & Air Freight International (SAFI), Pan Pacific Corp, and the Hanoi Book and Education JSC.
Chinese businesses dominated Forbes list, its 63 companies followed by Taiwan’s 26 and Japan’s 17. Japan’s unprecedented presence points to a revival of its small and medium-sized enterprises.
The BUB list honours outstanding companies with annual revenue between US$5 million and US$1 billion.
A handful of 2012’s top achievers “graduated” off the list by exceeding US$1 billion in their latest yearly earnings
