HSBC Vietnam on Tuesday introduHSBC launches online banking libraryced the online banking library with the primary aim to help improve the public knowledge on banking, including credit cards, consumer loans, international trade, cash management and money dealing.

At the press briefing to launch the service in HCMC on Tuesday, the lender said the library is to help local consumers familiarize themselves with banking services and activities. There are multiple courses on individual and corporate finance and knowledge tests of various levels available at the library targeting those keen to learn about banking operations, said HSBC Vietnam general director Sumit Dutta.

Contents of all training courses are prepared on the basis of data used for training staff members of HSBC worldwide. They are translated into the Vietnamese language and are arranged into many different courses to make it simpler for learners to understand, Dutta said.

The bank’s CEO said the library is one of the projects for the benefit of the local community in line with the global policy of HSBC. The policy is aimed to improve the living environment and support the educational development in Vietnam, he said.

Additionally, the library’s launch is to raise public awareness of banking operations and at the same time encourage local people to shift to non-cash transactions.

He also told local media HSBC in the future will continue to improve the functions of the library after receiving feedback from readers.

HSBC will also collect more materials relating to cash flow management of firms and to provide instructions to small- and medium-sized enterprises in the country, he said, adding these efforts target to provide common and helpful knowledge to local companies.
